It is a unique Country Resort of great charm in the heart of Tuscany, cradle of art and culture and enogastronomy. It will be a great pleasure for me to host you in the relax of the villa of 500 sqm, restored from an ancient fortress with medieval tower of the 10th century, located on a variant of the ancient Via Francigena, dominant on the hill top facing San Gimignano towers and the Chianti hills. A centre of cultural and political events, it was here in 1220 the towns of San Gimignano and Colle val d’Elsa formed an alliance. It achieved its splendour in the Renaissance when the then proprietor, Paolo Cortesi, one of the most prominent humanists and secretary to Pope Julius II, made his own home and dining hall with the name "Cortesio Castle".
Everything here preserves the charm of the past combined with modern comfort and discretion of privacy.
